Get a large fabric Xilinx FPGA from ebay, reball it and make a simple PCB with Altium auto routing with JTAG, SPI flash, some memory. And find a license for Vivado.

If you want to be pragmatic there are FPGA boards and the SiFive Unmatched. Both are slow and require a degree of trust. But they might make a small home server. Of course just because it’s open/free doesn’t mean it’s more secure.

Coreboot was a great project for it’s time. But if you want free hardware you need to build it yourself. As in from the RTL up to the keyboard.

I’m suggesting the government policy of basing their economy on magic beans is reflective of the IQ of their population. The value of bitcoin halved 2 months ago. What would happen in the US if one day the buying power of everyone’s wages

Oh it’s a shotgun, not a rifle. Yes that makes all the difference. But taking a photo of an employee’s screen and posting it on the internet is way over the line.

I kind of admire the fun in the project and the thought and workmanship, but I’ll steer clear of calling this clever. See there’s no benefit in using a $1500 rubidium oscillator as a holdover for a $500 GPSDO board when the application is

Well he’s free to do whatever he wants. But creating someone with that education is a type of investment society makes. There’s a high cost to the community and yes of course the group expects something in return. It’s kind of like the lyin

The speedup is marginal and hardly perceivable. This theory Apple is slowing older phones to sell new models is simply untrue. On the other hand I challenge anyone to show me a perceivable difference between a 60 and 100Hz display. I think

In your YubiKey SSH client you use the PIV applet with a maximum of RSA2048 when you could’ve used the auth key on the GPG applet for RSA4096. Is NIST compliance something you want to advertise today?

I take it for granted that human beings won’t last forever as a species, and that’s probably a good thing. It would appear we have the unique privilege of creating our replacements from scratch. Hopefully we don’t screw that up and finish w

In 2007 a photo album came to light of guards at Auschwitz relaxing at a resort not far from a death camp, with gas chambers and ovens and such, the details of which they were well aware. In the photos they can be seen laughing, smiling, ma

Sure; Apple, the world’s largest company at $2.1T, will get on their knees and beg if you file a petition to the government to ban smartphones. Get on that! Problem solved.
