Not so much emphasis with Kickstarter please. A lot of people won't go the Kickstarter route (non-US residents being among them). Being able to take pre-orders is the magic words, and won't alienate prospects.

Going back to school will have two benefits: 1) put you on track towards another line of work (and buy time to figure things out) and 2) place you in a social environment. If going back to school is an option for you, then that's what I'd b

How many millions of dollars has the developer of Sublime Text made? Less rewarding, yeah right. Surprising how your nonsensical comments are always voted up. The dumbass herd mind is alive and well at HN.

Great idea. I don't know if I'd be blabbing this on HN though. The MVP should be your "research".

One more thought. Cookbooks - the popular ones anyways - are plastered with glossy pics. The typsetting and design are immaculate. You may want a professional designer to design the book for you. Okay, I'm done.

Lulu. I've self-published twice with Lulu and it was a painless enough experience. Actually, no. Let me correct myself. It was a lot of work, and quite painful, but Lulu's tools made it a lot easier. I highly recommend them. EDIT: I used Wo

I hope you don't find someone who has schizophrenia and hellbanned funny. Because that would be pathetic, and you would be heartless. I no doubt misinterpreted your comment.

I admire what you're doing, and the post was well written btw. Continue to follow your own rules, most great people in history do. And if ever you feel like you need to tweak your social life, you'll know what to do.

I gave this an upvote because MakeUseOf is a really useful and highly underrated website. Great resource for getting the most out of apps.

Nice, but I can one-up it. I've got 2X Turbo Legs that don't require plugging in and run completely on food energy. Talk about eco-friendly! Mind you, it runs a little slower, but I choose the planet and my children's future over convenienc

Self-doubt and fear... Those two feelings will be your friends if you take the time to know them. But are you willing to make that journey? Are you willing to make the sacrifices to be great? It's sounds like you want assurances now, before

How sad. Yahoo is still fixated on "fresh" and "beautiful" design when it's the content that needs to be completely overhauled. Leave fresh, beautiful and intuitive design to Smashing Magazine. Yahoo needs to make brave changes and Marissa

Office 2013 has a great look and feel I've really glommed on to. I spend enough time at the computer that I want to enjoy (as much as I can) my time on it. The tools I use matter. If I enjoy using the tools I stay productive longer. I enjoy

Actually, I like renting the latest MS Office. I don't have to pony up $300 to have the best office software anymore. I just pay $10 a month and it runs seamless with Outlook, SkyDrive and Skype.
