I install all sorts of random jailbroken apps. I also install Android apps. So far so good, but buyer beware.

Actually, it's probably a mixture of things, not just heat. Heat is probably just one of the many important pieces. From what I know about biology/evolution, this answer is just as likely to have a single clean reason as it is that you kill

IANAL, but you might want to reconsider making such a public post, due to SEC regulations disallowing public notice of equity investment opportunities of private companies. I've seen people point to Section 5: http://www.law.uc.edu/CCL/33

I always assumed if they were making a system OS it was more for netbooks and would be somewhat like Android where it would be specially released with netbooks or notebooks that used it. I could see them maybe making a Xen or VMware version

I'm sure you're not like this, but there's a worry to keep in mind as users of such an app: There was a meme app like this that went around on LiveJournal a few years ago. It seemed all cool and sweet, but they announced a few months later

I've been using the jailbroken Red Laser for a while-- it's accurate but not really "impossibly accurate". I spend a lot of times looking awkward trying to position products if the lighting or package shininess isn't just right. I've had it

Check with your lawyer, but the SEC has some overviews here: http://www.sec.gov/info/smallbus/qasbsec.htm#eod6 Sounds like a lot of hassle for those 35 non-accredited investors you get with Rule 505/506. I'd also be interested if anyone e

Our feedback widget from http://featurelist.org doesn't require any login and the email is optional. It's modeled after the same sort of side-widget you see on a lot of YC sites. The idea is to get the user feedback as quickly as possible

I use the carefully/comically pronounce words trick for better spelling, it really does help. For example, to remember the spelling of Wednesday, I have always pronounced it in my head as "Wedness day".

Some bad problems: * Can you provide a video or something? I don't quite understand what you offer beyond what Mint offers and it's really hard to trust a new site with financial information. * I get a 500 error whenever I try to confirm my

Interesting experiment. I thought I was going crazy all of a sudden. A suggestion: Any chance the numbers could show later as the article gets older? I'd like to see how the votes resolved after some time. Or perhaps hide them only on front

Lie detection techniques are a bit like secure software; eventually the best of the best will be good at reducing the reliability of the best expert. And once a technique is covered on enough episodes of CSI/Lie to Me, then the "script kidd

Agreed-- this puzzled me as well. I don't really doubt that the scripting languages are faster in terms of coding time but why not just measure them or at least have a 3rd party confirm the developer's time? In any other study of workers, I

Random cautionary anecdote about Thunderbird tabs: My cat stood on my keyboard and opened an email hundreds of times. This made hundreds of new tabs that would re-open every time I started Thunderbird. As far as I could tell, Thunderbird ha

In terms of performance, I couldn't tell the difference between a real NES for Zelda II (like 40 fps). The performance for Chrome for me was stellar, almost perfect. (v3.0.196.2)

The owner of SimpleCDN struck me as a bit flaky and rude. When I searched then for reviews of SimpleCDN you'll see some red flags in the way he responds to other people. I asked something about this myself a long while back: http://news.yc
