Yeah, the matchmaker problem we're attacking this way: * Coming soon, stats/points/levels for matchmakers. * Users ask their friends to matchmaker for them specifically, and we interleave other matches once in a while to spread out the love

These are some great comments. Thanks so much for your time/review/thoughts. The site is more of an introduction/matchmaking site. I only billed it as a "dating" site in the link I submitted to HNYC because that's kind of the niche it fits

Great feedback-- we can definitely do that. We went with the more superficial approach to catch people's attention initially and try to raise some eyebrows. I do think I would also prefer to date on a website not exactly termed this way, to

We want rapid clicking to be fast. Abuse isn't going to be super common because people are going to be bored. Also "No" doesn't count against anything in our matching algorithm. It's basically just not recommending them for a match. Spammin

There are lots of fun problems in this-- our matching algorithm at the moment is not super complex. Once we have more feedback/data, we will constantly tweak, but the starting plan is to make more successful matchmakers weighed slightly hig

Thanks for the great feedback. :) We've done lots of user testing so far and get different impressions. The front page image will definitely change and be A/B tested to death once we launch-- it's just what we've got so far. Note that we're

Thanks for the feedback so quickly! Regarding looks: Sure, looks are superficial ways to recommend matches, but that's just to get the conversation started (as it is on every dating website, pretty much ever). There's also a key here that y

We're finishing up the last few key bugs that we've uncovered over the weekend and wanted to get your input before we start publicizing it. What do you think? Like/dislike? Thanks, as always.

Maybe this (or a worse) attacker would have killed him or knocked him out or something so he could better pose as them once he had the badge. Hard to say.

Nice work! This goes very well with some of our company's long-term goals of making things easier for techies (e.g. http://bug.gd and http://featurelist.org ) If you're interested in talking about partnership opportunities (at a minimum

I would be happy to pay (much more even), but I don't think it's necessary to help the community.

This site has taught me not to downvote with emotion. I pretty much think "how many votes should this have? how great is the comment?" and I upvote or downvote it based on how incorrect their current rating is. Lately I find myself upvoting

A year ago, comments that weren't blatantly offensive/crummy/rude/jerkish usually didn't fall below 0 points. The restraint of the community is what encouraged me to get so involved. I'm all for downvoting a bad troll or uninvited meme/rick

search.wikia.com uses Grub: http://search.wikia.com/about/crawl.html And that index is also open for download, though I haven't looked much into it.

Does anyone else see their sites reflected wildly incorrect by compete.com? I have two sites that get 5-8 times the traffic shown by compete's graphs. Because of this, I just never take compete.com's stats as reliable at all.

I'm so tired of talking about fake gag iPhone apps. I'd like to thank the person who made the Clinometer app, wherever he or she is. It's like a $2 digital level. It's really a slick real-world tool I didn't expect to turn my iPhone into.

It's hard to say what the quarter would have been like without a major ad push in Q3. Maybe the ads were bad, but maybe their revenue would have been worse without them-- solely from a business perspective, you have to be careful with state
