Ugh, I'm so tired of this argument. Lego has more sets today that are just bricks or bricks with multiple models than they've had for like 35+ years. Not to mention dozens of books they put out with other ideas. And I'm not t

I remember watching the 2006 Super Bowl at a friend's apartment. One room had the SD broadcast going and the other had an HD brodcast. We'd be watching them line-up in HD and hear cheers from the other room because they already sa

Portability was such a huge factor for me losing interest in diaspora, and I hope that can be addressed. As for the multiple instances, can't you just pick one and follow things on the others? That was my understanding.

Please do no conflate hate speech and abuse with dissenting opinions. There may, very well, be people who want to hide in an echo chamber. But that is all over twitter and Facebook today. Being able to isolate yourself from abusive speech s

Somewhat humorous in light of this comment on Schneier's post about the laptop ban: "Get the 15" laptop, throw all the electronics away, leave just screen and keyboard. Put Raspberry Pi and three AA batteries inside. Voila -

Have you made a decision on the card yet? I really wanted to do this on my primary desktop and ended up using a secondary machine which I stream non-Linux games via Steam. But I hate running that second machine all the time.

I don't know why it never occurred to me to try putting the bangs at the end of the result, but you definitely just saved me a lot of future time I would have spent jumping to the beginning of searches to edit them. Seriously, thanks.

Not sure the point of this. The implication of the parent was that HOAs severely restrict freedoms in the suburbs. My point was that HOAs are not a requirement for living in the suburbs.

I grew up deep inside a suburban development in Pennsylvania. We could ride our bikes for miles and still avoid major roads. Street hockey games very rarely had to move nets for cars. A number of friends lived easily within walking/bik

My guess would be that the American government has less reason to test what would take down some of these services. And not for benevolent reasons, but because they could more easily send in armed agents and simply unplug those services.
