They never had a competitive product. Look at any of the head to head reviews of the QC vs intel radios. Anecdotally, my intel modem equipped iphone has worse signal performance than any phone i've owned in the past 10 years, pretty mu

In the same boat, with the same machine. I would literally buy a new one of the 2012-15 model with updated specs right now if it was available. USB-C everything isn't even a dealbreaker for me, honestly, and i wouldn't even have y

I'm with popsiclepete. I had a long string of "smart" devices before the iphone and they were, unilaterally, garbage. Even the ones with great hardware(looking at the treo 600 series here especially) had awful software and ba

This has been screwed up since they moved away from the original, much MUCH nicer wacom digitizers(which were also more sensitive with the pen). I still haven't heard a legit explanation besides this other than "they're expen

There's some interesting budget options like the Chuwi lapbook(both the 12 and 13in versions) that are starting to. I just wish there were more midrange/higher spec options between that and the surface book

I've had more issues with high sierra than any release since lion, but still less than i've had with windows 10(and i even own a surface pro!). I really hate having to choose between two bad options, but it's more a borderlin

I had similar issues with a home-rolled desktop(nothing ridiculous! intel CPU, amd GPU, adaptec raid card, stack of ram. No old or weird hardware) and eventually just gave up and sold the entire lot. The last straw for me, after many update

I have multiple offline friends who don't post on tech messageboards, but have had this issue. A few of them have just been putting up with it to avoid the cost. This is much more widespread than even sites like hn and reddit make it s

I have no evidence to prove it, but i think you're probably right. I went through like three motherboards during nvidia GPUgate, and i know people who went through more than one screen during the early rMBP bad screen coating thing

For what it's worth, i bought a bottom panel on ebay for about $28 and swapped it myself. Small components like this are never a good deal from the OEM, regardless of brand. Same deal with cars, pick it up from the junkyard.

Anecdotal of course, but i've owned almost every iphone that's launched(skipped the 7 and the 3gs) and i haven't ever scratched my screen, no protectors. Exact same treatment: always a case with a lip, since the 4 My X has a

They break really, really quickly. Almost half of the ones i've ridden have had something broken. And not seemingly from abuse or collisions or anything, just stuff falling apart. Bad brakes, broken shifters, snapped off seat adjusters

It's consistently the worst app on any set top box platform(android, firetv, apple tv, roku, anything) which is REALLY saying something as there's some super awful ones out there like HBO Go. It refuses to play nice with, for exam

I would have used this phone forever if the battery life wasn't mediocre to bad. And yes, i put in a fresh battery that came well recommended. It took it from pathetic to just barely ok. It's a shame too, because just about everyt
