I'm not an expert on this, but when you exercise stock options you have to pay taxes on the fair market value at that time. In some cases it might make sense to exercise stock options before you can actually sell them (e.g. if you expe

It just seems like a national pastime to post as little information about yourself or anything you're associated with anywhere online at all. As an expat that it makes it hard to stay in contact with many people. It's everybody&#x

I find the whole premise of this article a bit weird. It starts with "Good news". Why is it automatically good news that educated people use social media less? I'm a German living in the United States and find this part of Ge

I thought that was just based on URLs. Similarly when I open a yelp.com link in my mobile browser it asks me whether to open it using the Yelp app or the browser.

The fact that you see it as self-entitlement when someone wants to come back to their job after a pregnancy and cancer treatment shows how wrong the current attitude in the US towards a healthy work / life balance is.

I wouldn't call it a delusion. Investors were valuing Twitter at close to $40 Billion because they were expecting Facebook-like growth. Now that they don't see that growth they currently value it at around $20 Billion. Based on si

I think the main benefit is that they could easily do night-time delivery with this. Usually people have their cars parked at home during the night and they don't have to wake you when they just leave the package in your trunk.

That's a good point, but it also depends on disposable income. If after rent (or mortgage), food and other basic necessities you have $1000 left per month then it doesn't make a difference whether you earn $100,000 in SF or $60,00

Sure it can get complicated, but there are also some safe ways to fork. Imagine you fork at the very beginning of your program before starting any threads. No danger in that. So the language could at least allow it (but provide the proper w

The salary in this example is per year, the rent is per month. So actually a 10% rent increase is $1200 per year and a 1% salary increase is $1000 per year for a net loss of $200.

I definitely would not say that most people agree to this. Otherwise it would be very surprising to see Google, Facebook, Apple, Samsung and many others growing their presence in Silicon Valley.
