Cool product! I know this is a nitpick but you should include a link to your homepage ( http://telech.at ) somewhere on your blog so readers don't have to manually type in the URL.

This may be a small step towards further "appification" of the MacBook line of products, which for better or for worse has been Apple's M.O. lately. On one hand, I love opening up the App Store on my MacBook and flipping through all the shi

That's exactly what we're doing at http://www.plugshare.com . Check it out. The blue icons are residential charging stations and the green icons are public charging stations. Over 2,000 people have signed up to share their home electricity

Congratulations to Dalton and the entire team at App.net! They deserve every penny. Dalton's steely resolve through this entire process has been an inspiration to me; it takes a lot of guts to go out on a limb and ignore all the haters. Eve

If you have an iPhone app with 1 million daily active users, VCs will be knocking down your doors to write that Series A check. A spammy Facebook app with 1 million "users" is a totally different beast on the other hand. It really depends o

Fact is, meeting new people is hard . Airtime forces you to connect with Facebook, so anyone you meet knows exactly who you are. Which makes using Airtime hard . At least Chatroulette introduced a fun element by letting users stay anonymo

The deal was a little more complicated. I believe Efficient Frontier bought Context Optional for $50 million, and then Adobe acquired eFrontier for $400 million. I went ahead and added it.

And the shakeout of social media management startups continues. Here's a recap so far: Vitrue (Oracle, $300 million) Involver (Oracle, undisclosed) Efficient Frontier (Adobe, $400 million) Buddy Media (Salesforce, $689 million) Wildfire (Go

Believing that the finish line is just yards away and finding that it is actually miles is not going to be good for your company’s morale. I've learned this lesson the hard way. It's easy to get caught up in acquisition discussions, so be

Author's anger is misdirected here. The core thesis of the TechCrunch article -- shipping some working PHP code is approximately a million times better than designing something mindblowing in Haskell that never actually ships -- is true.

Wow. The fact that some teaser screenshots are getting so much attention is great news for App.net. Honestly I wasn't sure about Dalton's prospects at first -- but with the developer community hanging on to his every word, he might have a s

Keep in mind that this is written from the point of view of the employee and not the founder(s). The reality is that it takes longer than a 30-minute interview to determine whether or not someone deserves a chunk of the company that you hav

This is almost certainly a strategic move on Twitter's part to slow the spread of Instagram. I doubt it has to do with "developers" as others have surmised. Even if it hurts Twitter's growth in the short term, in the long term it makes more

So, if you want to get covered in Techcrunch, start a consumer internet company. If you want to get rich, don't start a consumer internet company.

I definitely appreciate how clearly everything is laid out. Some VCs have ridiculously wishy-washy copy on their website. If I had a nickel every time I read about "investing in big ideas" I'd have a $1M seed round in no time.

Your math is wrong. You're assuming they raised at a $2 million valuation. If they raised equity funding at a valuation above $60 million (which is likely since Viddy raised at $350M+) then the investors lost money.

Why not just make it free like iOS updates? Is Apple really hurting for the extra cash? Seems like the benefit of having everyone up-to-date outweighs the financial hit.

The reason why the content itself is not served under https is precisely to avoid the SSL warning. As I've said before, this particular issue is not high priority right now, which doesn't mean we're not aware or aren't going to fix it. So
