I've recently wondered, can you buy consumer sodium cells. Apparently, the only way is to order from china directly. These seem to look more trustworthy (did not order yet) https://hakadibattery.com/collections/sod

I agree, but my mind only changed when I got to the company with good working conditions. Until you have no decent work life balance, benefits and compensation, speaking of friendship and family looks like an sarcastic insult. But to be tru

I think your analogy is lacking. Human brain is much more efficient, so it is not right to say "giving a human team a week instead of five hours". Most likely, the whole OpenAI compute cannot match one brain in terms of connection

Afaik it is very unlikely anything from mars can affect us in any way. All our bacteria and viruses have millions of years of coevolution. Best example is how almost all cat and dog infections do not affect humans. And cats and dogs are mam

Yes. And the change of this view about children was greatly influenced by Janusz Korczak, one of great educators of early XX century. He also was born in Russian Empire, when Poland was part of it. Died in German concentration camp ;(

Well, technologically everyone progresses. But societal change seems to be much harder. Still, most people were illiterate and young children were valued close to nothing among peasants. Children mortality up to 5 years old was 60%. Thinkin

It was extremely widespread in Russian Empire too. To the extent that not only poets and artists used morphine and cocaine, but also some high ranking officials. One of the police chiefs, for example, was both morphinist and alcoholic.

If you think america moved too fast in the beginning of the century, try Russian Empire. Not only the same technological marvels as everywhere in the west, but also three revolutions and several wars. Change of government from monarchy to p

After reading about meta reviews that say SSRIs are no better then placebo, articles like this make me sceptical. Miracle cure that works for depression, anxiety, OCD, pain and now cancer. All with huge profit and a lot of lobbying. And poo

Anectodically, this is pretty rare. I know quite a lot of people who used psychedelics, and they are fine. I think some important safety points is to know family history of mental illness and not do then until later in life. And obviously,

A bit terrifying read. I am not sure people should do stuff like that. Weird that society denies us using drugs or assisted suicide, but allows things like this or extreme sports. Talking as a person who is contemplating my grim options.
