The streets are littered with beetlenut in Shenzhen, especially Huaqiangbei. Also Chunking Mansion, HK (take the stairs). Would not recommend if you have elevated blood pressure.

Interesting, did you take pics? Most living quarters (小区）in China have electrical fences and most windows have been barred. Left over from the 80’s when crime was high. Nowadays the bars prevent pets and children from falling out of the win

The firmware on these things is terrible, also larger e-mopeds btw. Like a 2 second delay on the throttle after breaking (fun when cornering!). Happy this Egret GT E-Scooter didnt turn into..’Regret’
