What exactly makes JavaScript a better target for languages such Elm (apart from GC and DOM access which are supposed to be implemented sooner or later) ? You realise that JavaScript itself is also compiled/transpiled by the browser en

Do you mean that Elm was not designed considering JS as its compilation target? Is Elm used anywhere else than the web browser? Why nobody compiles to JS outside the web browser if it's such a good compilation target? >> Also,

Elm was designed to be transpiled into javascript just like CoffeScript so let's put it aside for a moment. WASM is work in progress so I'm sure that if people care enough they can find solutions for such specific issues(i.e. s

I believe you are wrong. WASM has a text version and nothing stops you from using the DOM or the web APIs (given that wasm gets an API). What exactly is the black box? You can use OpenGL in javascript too if that's what you mean by &q

Well... two of 3 of the languages you provided as example were designed to be transpiled to javascript. I doubt JS is a more suitable target for other languages than an IR like wasm which is being designed to be a compiler target.

The author seems to complain about old good HTML but fails to to mention the native apps. The future of the web(web 3.0/x.0) seems to be more about apps, mostly native apps than websites.

Well if the job requires you to use all of them(twitter, facebook, reddit) you are left with no service for personal use only. Usually you don't have a choice, you use what your friends use.

Even so it's still likely to type the wrong url/login on the wrong device(i.e by reflex). The only safe choice you have is to not have any "personal stuff"(i.e. personal twitter account).

My LG is older(first OLED generation) so I guess that's why it doesn't have this new "feature". Ads in AppStore make sense but displaying them in the menu is outrageous.

where exactly are the ads? I have one and I've never seen an "LG ad". There are apps with adds(i.e. youtube) but it has nothing to do with LG.
