I wonder what lucky contractor supplied those radios... Surprised there is no mention of that in the article.

Keep in mind that all internet in NZ and Australia is metered. Similar to mobile data here, except more like pay-as-you-go. You pay for a block of bandwidth and then use it till it's gone. Not the same idea as here in the States.

Why is everyone complaining about the title? Yes its a bit sensationalist but all of this is detracting from the actual story here. While it's true that cyanogenmod.com going down may not serve a functional problem to most people but it is

This! Google just recently saw this happen with the Nexus 7 this summer. People were charged when they preordered and then the lack of a hard ship date caused Google to have to spend countless hours in customer support. Once somebody has pa

> generally older, better-educated and earn higher Could easily be argued that older more "professional" users as you infer are very much less informed than younger more tech savvy android users

First, this is a discussion about Motorola not Samsung. But basically you have no idea what you are talking about.

As a Mainer I am very proud of this. It has been talked about for a long time in Maine and tidal power is not exactly a new idea. But it's good to see ORPC finally executing on this idea.

It sounds like they announced a loss of $59m but this was adjusted for tax payments they made pushing them to $311m gain. FB still seems toxic to me - I wouldn't invest a cent of my own money.

I see this as a larger play. As the internet generation gets older many more people will have almost their entire life online making the information Ancestry.com can provide much greater and more detailed family trees.

This is Hacker News...I appreciate the direct source of the leak. Not some shitty article that someone wrote about what happened. If you don't like it, don't click it.

I'm a little confused. I don't see a change log. I also don't see an easy way to upgrade from 12.04 which is what I currently run. Do I need to do a full reinstall? Am I missing something? (probably)

Another case of how Apple doesn't care about its customers. They offer the opt-out option but turn the service on by default and don't notify anyone. Good thing (for Apple) most of their customers have had too much koolaid to care.
