More and more Apple has been adding ads into iOS. Always have another Apple credit card ad in wallet, or Apple Music ad in settings, etc.

The real point of the original comment was that outside the US iMessage is not dominant and so nobody cares about what color a chat bubble is.

I'm unclear - so what does get deleted? Just unlinks your name from the genetic data?

Impressive. Mine goes 'sorry, I don't understand', after multiple attempts at 'what month is it'. Google assistant understands.

As a user of all, Google Assistant and Alexa are miles ahead of Siri. Initially I just had Siri, and like you assumed they were all like that. Not the case. No more 'here's what I found on the web' or just not being able to h

.. tiny steps don't accomplish anything? Do you think tech innovations spring out of nowhere? What do you think about Waymo?

Have you tried the conversational mode in google translate? It allows two people to take turns speaking to it each in a different language.

Great point. I use both Mac and windows. Love my windows pc, but I have certainly used corporate windows laptops that make me want to throw them out the window - minutes to boot, minutes to open anything, etc. between Mac and windows, they&

It's clearly a joke. You've never heard people make corporate inspired comments about normal activities? Never had friends talk about sending them a calendar invite for dinner?

Looks like it's going to be a clone of Partiful which has taken off in the last few years. The big question will be how effectively they make it work cross-platform. If it doesn't provide the same functions to Android users I'

Have you actually used them recently? Gemini is top of chatbot arena, and Gemma is one of the best open models at its size.

You can email support to get this disabled. Apparently only the business version has a toggle to do it yourself. Regardless I'm much happier having disabled it now

Isn't the reason it highlights that from search because that was your search term? That's what I've seen, in which case I prefer that it does draw my attention to that string

It's fascinating to read multiple comments openly justifying attacks on the UN, saying that if they haven't stopped hezbollah themselves that they are the same as terrorists. Even among this group of generally logical mathematical

Had a similar thing happen to me, but for Facebook. Account got locked, to unlock I needed to verify identity via text. Never received the text because I had disabled getting text fb notifications, which apparently included account recovery

As a native English speaker, I've actually only heard 'a bad workman blames his tools', not the artist form. Now that I google it, did you mean craftsman? I don't see any references to artist.

Wouldn't be surprised. The 4th largest browser is a mere 2.7% of the market. What about the fifth and sixth? If I had to decide how to allocate testing hours, I probably wouldn't put much into the 2.7% vs the top 3 with 88%.

What actions do you find slow and laggy? There are definitely UX improvements, but I don't find either laggy on the multiple platforms I use them on, as long as I have a good network connection.

Meanwhile, I'm getting pushed away from iOS when I can't customise basic things and the Phone app (you know, the main use of a phone) takes 30s to open, even after restores.

It's a little ironic they are taking the high ground on safe rollout practices when they had an Azure/365 outage caused by a bad config at the same time as the CS incident. Though to be fair, it only affected US central.

Ah yes, the old 'if I don't build the bombs for them, someone else will'. I don't think this is taking the moral high ground, this is saying we don't care whether it's moral, there's demand and we'll

What does Word do better? I feel the opposite, I hate when I have to use Office products. GDocs for my uses has at least feature parity, and collaboration and sharing feels much cleaner.

You realize that is actually a very short list of corruption scandals - 12 over 55 years; and that they were investigated and prosecuted? The list of countries with stronger corruption records is short - this is not a great point to start y

- Do you have a reference for 'Genital mutilation is common and accepted'? It seems it only occurs in a minority of the also-minority 15% Muslim group, along with male circumcision. Obviously not great, but phrasing is dramatic. -

One is literally able to drive itself with no human. The other is advanced cruise control. This is like saying a regular plane is better than a fighter jet because it has less sensors and both can fly.

Perplexity, in their own docs, provides their user agent so that you can block it if you choose. The article's biggest quibble is that they are not actually us in the agent they publicly claim.

There are articles every day about how AI is replacing programmers, coding is dead etc, including from the nvidia ceo this week. This kind of thing shows we are not quite there yet. There are lots of folks on twitter etc who rave about how
