Kind of odd: this seems like something better suited to a blog post than a Gist.

For python development, I'd also add Python(x,y) and/or Anaconda distributions for windows. They're binary installers that give you cpython interpreters + the kitchen sink when it comes to third party libraries and developmen

It sounds like we have the same background - I'd recommend getting into microcontroller programming with a platform like Arduino, and maybe look into some computer vision libraries (OpenCV is great).

> pick what language and coding paradigms best suit your problem domain and you as a coder An addendum: there is often no single obvious best way to do something. Though many approaches are obvious as being less wrong than others.

Wow. Looks like Youtube comments haven't improved much after all. Seriously, it seems like half of the comments seen on Youtube (or at the bottom of any article on a news site) read as if they could have come right from a post on Storm

The difference in public perception between Snowden and Bradley Manning is interesting. Is it because of the nature of the information leaked? Is it because Snowden got away, and some folks like to root for an underdog?

Serious question to those with experience in the area: is the term "Deep learning" more than a buzzword?

Very curious to know if they set up a ODE 101-style Lotka–Volterra (predator-prey) system beforehand to gauge the impact. If so, that would make a pretty interesting "real-word" teaching example.

Anaconda and Python(x,y) on windows help out a ton. Similarly for Homebrew on OSX. On Linux, if you have a package manager you're probably good to go.

Python+Numpy+Scipy+Spyder/IPython have made headway around these parts in displacing MATLAB/Simulink. Simple single installers (Python(x,y), etc) have certainly helped.

Meh, feels like a bit of a stetch. But still a better analogy then those consultants who try stretch and apply "The Art Of War" to everything in the business world.

Great demo, well written code. Though reading through it also highlights that JS is not a great language for linear algebra. But I don't think anyone is really suggesting otherwise.
