What is the "shadow" that appears to go across the plane in a very irregular manner? Is there a local dust cloud obscuring parts of the main plane?

Is this not simple supply and demand? If people didn't want to read magazines such as Hello etc they wouldn't buy them and the publishers would realign to what people do want to buy (be that reading about technology or anything el

Absolutely aware of jqGrid, but to be honest I can't comment on how it compares to DataTables has I've never really worked with jqGrid. Perhaps I've taken the wrong approach, but I've tended not to look at the other tabl

Plans to change it in the future. I'm planning on merging the abilities of ColVis (given that it just calls a standard DataTables API method) into TableTools and improving the TableTools API / configuration options. At the moment

A full list of options are available here: http://datatables.net/ref . However, I totally accept that the documentation isn't up to scratch, which I why I'm working on completely redoing it. I'd be interested

DataTables author here - I completely agree that the API is far from the best, which is why v1.10 will include an entirely new "modern" API (with a shim for the old API to provide full backwards compatibility). The prefix letters

I'm not sure I can express in words how much of an effect Iain Banks' writing has had on my life. From my school English projects on some of the earlier books through to his latest work, his imagination and ability to convey those ideas in

There is another reason as well - at least in the UK if you are VAT registered. You need to know if your customer is in the UK, EU or outside of the EU, and if they are a business or not (their own VAT registration number), so you know if y

Hadn't been planning it, but it sounds like a very sensible idea! Added an issue in GitHub which you can follow if you like: https://github.com/DataTables/VisualEvent/issues/26

This - I wish I could up vote multiple times. Fundamentally, distributors want to be able to use DRM to protect their content. If open standards won't provide a way to do that, there is no surprise that they turn to Silverlight etc.

I run an open source project and I typically use github to track bugs, but I'm reluctant to have a dedicated bugzilla (or whatever) for the project as ~90% of bug reports are not bugs in my library, but rather installations issues or bugs i

You need to be able to prove that the purchase is B2B rather than B2C, and the easiest way of doing that is to get the buyer's VAT number. You could still do B2B without a VAT number, but you need to be able to prove that the buyer was a bu

How do you know it is open source without a license? Sure you can see the source code, but I wouldn't have said that is what makes it open - its the license that does.
