It depends on what your needs are, but you're probably best off going with Python. If you don't need things like websockets, then Flask is really easy to get into.

You're talking about guided missiles with target-seeking behavior.

"You can't really properly hate a language until you're an expert on it." So true. So very, very true.

It seems that the complaint is "I don't understand this thing, so I hate it." That's a very immature way of thinking.

Much harder, but it wouldn't surprise me if the do later, depending on how this goes.

While we're at it, let's not let websites process payments either. Or retailers. Or restaurants. Or anyone. Apple knows best, right?

Not even close to the lowest price. And that isn't a solution, either.

No, they aren't. At least... not about this.

Much harder to win against them. Depending on how this goes, they're probably next.

Because they might actually be able to win this one.

They varied. The one I currently work for is fairly large (~300 people in software and product, which constitutes maybe 1-2% of the total number of employees). I've worked for larger and smaller companies, though. The company I work

Maybe so, but I've never worked for a company that trained programmers. It was always assumed that the wonderful open office plan will facilitate the transmission of tribal knowledge like that.

I've never worked for a company that trained programmers. You ether knew what you said you knew, or you didn't. Management would weed out the imposters in the end.

Lawsuits only really work if you know who to sue. And if they live in a country that will honor your country's court's decisions. And if they have money.

Ambitious. I wonder if they'll have enough momentum to actually pull off something usable without a large, interested user base.

I'd like to live in a world where that is true, but we just don't. Languages only need to be powerful enough to solve the problems actually being solved by 9 to 5 programmers. Aesthetics and ergonomics matter much more.

All of this is true, but it doesn't matter. Most programmers are put off by s-expressions, too. Aesthetics matter.

I figured that details like that didn't matter in the context of the joke. He was a smart and productive person that designed an ugly programming language.

Pretty close. It was a professor that was tired of people writing languages to embed in their applications, so he wrote a language to embed in applications. Very much an XKCD 927 story.

TCL is... semantically, amazing. It is syntactically hideous. As much as we like to claim that we're technical people and form over function blah blah blah... aesthetics and readability matter.

I only use my work laptop for work, and gets to live on the DMZ of my home network. I tape over the camera when I'm not using it and I don't care what they put on there.

Writing documentation is boring, and requires the kind of rigor and focus that I haven't found to be common in the Bitcoin community.

The name of the company is Ampere. The name of the product is Altra. Trademarks don't automatically apply to all usages of the word.
