Legally there cannot be comp differences. The issue is once you get the H1B you have them for 7+ years. Obviously they can change companies but it is not without risk.

Yes you are doing both actually. There is a special visa for this. In the US it is an L1 visa.

I would look at YC startup sentiment on HN. Regardless HN has always seemed to me to have a more pessimistic view so it is interesting to see the converse. Also it would be interesting to bucket by timezone.

If you can afford it and have a 5+ year horizon, probably. Look at your local market pre-2008 crash prices and how long they took to recover to get a rough timeline. Where I live took 10 years. I don’t think it’ll take as long to recove
