How is wanting to protect your IP ( whether or not you agree with the very notion of IP ) being greedy?

Using AdBlockPlus I've just added the rule to block everything from meta.wikimedia.org which is the domain that loads the script to blackout the site. ||meta.wikimedia.org Seems to be working so far.

Perhaps I should rephrase my previous comment to reflect some vagueness associated with the subject. While in a sense rights can exist for all things of all circumstances, they effectively do not exist for the those who cannot utilize them.

>My rule of thumb though? If you think a piece of paper is something that grants you a right, then it's clearly not a fundamental right. All rights, natural or legal only exist so long as they are protected. The Bill of Rights is a prom

The argument he was responding to was unsound. The parent comment attempted to refute the claim that piracy is a legitimate problem by pointing out the ease at which it is done. Jayzee's analogy was never meant to compare shooting someone w

Forgery has neer been seen as a legitimate undertaking in the world of painting. While pieces of art have always been heavily derivative, it has never been common for artists to forge. The first reason for this being the ethical implication

Yes, thats what I see in this. While getting this information is fairly trivial, having a service to actually derive meaning from those metrics is valuable. One of the most interesting future for mobile computing is the prospect of contextu

Well I think you'd be hard pressed to find a hunter in the US that hunts only for the food gained. Maybe spending 70,000 dollars is sick, but I would hardly call those who hunt for "sport" sick. I myself have never hunted, but I imagine it

I believe that this is the case. There are already provisions in place to deal with sites within the juridiction of the DoJ. The primary affect of the bill is to give powers to those 'injured' parties seeking recourse against those sites th

From what I've been reading, the bill grants the DoJ power to combat sites outside of US jurisdiction. See title I sec 102. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c112:1:./temp/~c1124uh... : Is this only a piece of the larger picture? edit:

I don't understand why this should be downvoted. Are those downvoting it suggesting that the government does indeed want to see these sites go? Or that they will go? One thing that has been confusing me during the course of the proceedings

There's actually been much debate towards whether pornography can even be considered art, thus calling into question whether a Hitchcock or Coppolas of the Adult Film Genre can even exist. I personally am of the belief that porn isn't art,

Surely you don't think that having arbitrary code placed within the IOS AppStore isn't a security risk do you? Once malicious code has been approved in the store an attacker need only find a way to break out of the sandbox, which I am sure
