Zig and Rust are significantly different languages. If bun has a good architecture in zig (which I don't know if it does or not), that doesn't necessarily mean it had a good architecture for rust. A direct translation of zig code

What is inaccurate about it? Maybe it is out of date now, but when I first read it about a decade ago, when I did a fair amount of PHP development, I had personally encountered most of the issues mentioned in there. I've heard that PHP

As code quality goes down, so does productivity, as it becomes more difficult to add new features and there are more bugs introduced.

Well, I think the ideal would be to default to prompting, but have a "--yes" or "--non-interactive" option to turn it off in CI and similar, but that might be problematic for backwards compatibility now, but an "--

Personally, I'd rather get an error from uv that packages aren't compatible when I run update, with a way to override that if needed, than get an error at runtime that may be difficult to track down to incompatible versions.

On hardware that doesn't support it, misaligned loads could be compiled to multiple loads and shifts. Probably not great for performance, and it doesn't work if you need it to be atomic, but it isn't impossible.

It isn't a good test for that either. Having a successful business requires a lot of factors that don't really have anything to do with software engineering. Things like luck, connections, access to funding, good marketing, etc. A

I think it's more likely an interaction of both. Tariffs and recession lead to companies looking for ways to save money, and AI is both a convenient excuse for reducing headcount, and at least in some cases may actually reducing headco

Given zig instability (as in frequent breaking changes), it wouldn't surprise me if they intentionally design bun from the start in a way to make it easier to migrate to rust if needed.
