Another way to represent an EoA that would be homomorphic to AoE would be to use a SoA that as an array of the tags/discremenants, and a separate array containing unions for the values. Although, that would be a little harder to work w

I think it does support doing that. But I've never seen that pattern used. And it isn't used in many higher-level implementations. Possibly just becaus clone is a linux specific API, whereas fork/exec is more portable.

I don't think adding this to io_uring is at all bad. But I don't think it enough to solve the problem. If for no other reason, than because it requires using the machinery of io_uring, which adds quite a bit of complexity. However

I think GP agrees with you. They were saying that Scylladb (or redis, or hashicorp, etc.) never would have gotten as much traction if it had been proprietary from the begining. Being open source helped them get where they are, but now they

Saying "particle" instead of "quasiparticle" is also a little click-baity. Although, admittedly, the general public probably has no idea what a quasiparticle is. Not that the article does a very good job of explaining it

Well in this case, antirez literally promised[1] they wouldn't change the license of the core away from BSD, and then Redis Labs did just that, and now antirez is speaking favorably of that decision. [1]: https://antirez.com

I'm really curious about Oracle's motivation for fighting this. What value do they see in continuing to hold a trademark they aren't really using, and no one associates with them anyway?
