Disavow the bad backlinks via webmaster console, you'll notice a huge penalty for letting these bad sites link to you without disavowing them. It looks like (to Google) you're buying backlinks, and in this case ones on sites that

I think that those "95% efficient" motors are not 95% efficient at all speeds and loads. From what I can grasp, the variable configuration of the rotors let's them trade speed and torque without any loss in efficiency by cha

I know some people (freelancers mostly) who seem to be collecting passports as some kind of expensive complicated beurocratic sport. Would also be good to see a relative rating on how difficult/lengthy/costly the process is to get

Software defined datacenter depends on a control plane to do things below the "customer" level, such as migrate virtual machines and create virtual overlay networks. At the scale of a Google datacenter, this could reasonably be m

I kind of like that some of the money from this industry is resulting in learnings and improvements to open source. Found this article great, not many places to see 5m req/s, let alone on a single node. I'm really interested in he

If there is an app compatability layer (API parity) I'm sure most users won't notice the difference, and app developers wouldn't cry too hard about missing Google play services, provided there is an alternative. My bet is Hua

It's a tremendous effort to simply ensure standards. There are so many knobs and dials on h264 encoders, and features in each profile, is hard to appreciate the compatability we have today across devices - especially considering how mu

It seems that they're on track to get epyc into OEMs and cloud providers in quantity. They've been successfully growing the ecosystem in the server space over the last 2 years (Supermicro, dell, HPE, Lenovo all pushing epyc sku&#

The Navy would be highly interested in this, as they've had a project in the works for years (via NRL) to create jet fuel from seawater. They're basically 25% efficient right now, and the physical size of the device vs the output

This is absolutely sneaky and would work. I believe S3 also has file access cost but it's minimal. If you had a partitioned list of what you needed to move per node, so that coordination was minimal between them, this would be pretty

I like that idea, say after N inserts to a database/bigquery or N requests to existing service, after a file is posted to storage, or once a VM variable hits a certain trigger, kick off cloud function. Great for mini batching ETLs, lo

Very interesting. Still struggling to see how this would be more efficient than looping that data for the use case of getting beacon data out. Perhaps it's more consistent/predictable in scenarios of high or targeted loss (ie fi
