For those of you keeping track, this is about the 20th time China has declared to have banned Bitcoin or crypto. The only thing they've done is demonstrated that crypto is a threat to their all-reaching power grab and that they are mos

From what I saw on docs, it seemed to be agnostic to host linux architecture (x86 or arm host), but it did say (on the desktop guide): > The apk files you will sometimes find on the internet tend to only have arm support, and will theref

What's different between this and anbox (other than support, focus, etc)? How good is the 3d support, ie: Does it support a modern version of OpenGL ES? Can it process that via host hardware support (a la angle or similar)? Can it do t

Cool but how much does one of those servers cost... 120k? Pretty crazy stuff though, would love to see something similar from cloudflare eng. since those workloads are extremely broad vs serving static bits from disk.

Capacity isn't indicative of bandwidth peak - but I'm sure peaks are well past the terabit measure of each server is being designed for 100-400Gbps.

They colocate these servers inside ISPs typically. Would be interesting to know, for the traffic that does go to a Netflix primary pop - how much the hottest one consumes. It feels like a luxury that they can fit their entire content librar

Valheim dedicated servers are about the same overhead as a minecraft world (from what I can see running both side by side on windows anyway). It also supports linux, so you could probably do very similarly for Valheim.

You'd be humbled (perhaps not) by how little human capital gets assigned to review and correct anything under 5-figures at AWS. The account gets put into overdue and the services stay paused, you get an email every so often (if you ev

Yeah the aquifer is sulfer-free but the surface water smells of sulphur in most areas.

Evaporation is substantial. They do chlorinate their own water though - at least in Disney and Universal Studios, so if they're pulling their own groundwater it would not affect the local water.

Very cool solution. I know many people that spent an extra $15k to drill 200+ft deep wells into the aquifer just to avoid the sulphur smell in the water from shallow wells. This would be a very cost effective workaround.
