There is something I keep pointing out when inevitably the conversation turns this way: Bootstrap (and Foundation) are UI widget libraries , not just prototyping helpers. They are the missing rich widget set that browsers should provide

I currently like using Bootstrap for web apps and Foundation for designing web pages. Apps using Bootstrap benefit from the larger community of 3rd party controls and libraries and, why not, from a consistent UI look that I don't have to me

The manufacturers can't hear what you're saying over the sound of the ringing cash register. You've already bought the Windows laptop, proving that Linux support from their part wasn't that important after all. The only way I'd see this w

Node and SQL Server aren't as far from each other as you might think. In its latest mood swing, Microsoft is actually promoting Node. Look at WebMatrix, their simplified web development tool, I was surprised to see that it supports Node: h

Besides the support issues, it's worth noting that Google Voice is also impossible to use when you are (temporarily) outside of the US due to their braindead geographical IP limitation that blocks you from even accessing the site. For my vo

My biggest turnoff about ASP.NET MVC is the lack of documentation, namely a cohesive manual. I find the handful of links to blog posts at http://www.asp.net/mvc/overview ridiculous and absolutely not befitting the only modern web develo

You might have some luck with wrapping a web application into a desktop one by using something like Tide SDK (formerly Titanium Desktop). You wouldn't get a proper desktop application, but I think it would definitely work as a file uploader
