I worked on a project called Spore ( http://spore.sh ) to do this with a command-line tool. It works fairly well, although I've had a hard time communicating how it works to folks.

I would assume, then that you don't know many poor people. Based on the relationship between poverty and ethnicity, I'd say it's related to much more than their choices.

I think that this is a myth, perpetuated by people who wish to rationalize their position (which also happens to be wealth-maximizing for themselves). Empirically, giving people money helps them. This experiment with the homeless in London

Twitter had revenues of $1.4b in 2014 - for a tech company (i.e. low marginal cost of delivery), I would say that's enough to support a $24b valuation.

Yeah, something weird is going on, I'm looking into it. You're right that this could end up costing me quite a bit, but I'm still safe right now, with a couple of safeguards to prevent it from running away from me. EDIT: The

Very cool. Hadn't seen that before, but it looks like it provides some neat additional tools, like syntax highlighting and streaming uploads.

Streaming isn't supported right now. Blobs are limited to 1MB, so streaming isn't very useful anyway.

considering every mistake in the list had an accompanying "right way", I don't think it was a critique of Node.js. Some of these might rightly be called "Mistakes Web Developers Make".

Not saying that I agree with GP, but the US was much less centralized during the early days of the Constitution than it is today. Part of that is practical - fast communication makes it easier to centralize. But over many years through a co

But my point is that doing that analysis is pointless, because the dollar amount is so low. The difference in price will never be more than a rounding error in a company's expenses, so it's not worth worrying about. If someone at

Widespread use of the Argentine peso isn't critical for its success (a strong economy and good monetary policy is). Widespread use is, however, critical for Bitcoin's success, since it relies on a network effect of merchants and c

In my experience, if a tool provides any business value at all, worrying about $6/employee is a complete waste of time. If Slack saves each employee 6 minutes per month then it has paid for itself. Developer tools generally charge fa

Sure, in some areas it is much harder - but those aren't the areas where you're going to succeed. Look at Pebble - when they first started in 2008, no one was doing wearables. The founder hacked a Nokia screen with an Arduino - th

My guess would be the decentralized nature of it. Even if this service goes away (like Foursquare could), your check-ins with service won't (at least until the blockchain dies, which is presumably longer than an individual company).
