Very much this. Last time my dad visited he had 4 pill boxes: 7am,10am,2pm,6pm. We had to color code so he knew which ones at which hour. They had to be portable, at least 10 and 2 did. He had slight dementia so he would get confused abou

I don't think so. With the various colliders there was talk of black holes but they would be small and super short lived. The question may be more interesting if we talk about stable black holes at least by human time scales.

While you may be right, knife crime is not murder. Knife attacks are less deadly than firearms and we dont see breakdown there.

If no law was being broken then investigation sounds like harassment to me. While it could be annoying there are a lot of thing that are annoying that are no illegal. I'd love to take away the power tools from my neighbor but they ar

I use gopass myself and got it working on my windows laptop Including WSL and still use it. I even tried to adopt within the team and then its flaws were in full view. Hard to setup correctly on machines, hard to share passwords in team.

So you have script blocker on both and configured same way? I get captcha requests on my firefox with umatrix due to aggressive blocking.

They still wont test until you are near death. CDC and Kaiser tell me to stay home. Plague has at least 2 forms: one if its in your lung and another in the skin. I'm wonder if this might not be similar.

I think I have it. Going on 4th week with mild symptoms (severely itchy hands/arms, constant headache, muscle fatigue recently) that don't match published ones. I was probably infected going to grocer 6 weeks ago and took 2 weeks

AWS has Snowball and Snowmobile though only used former to reduce data transfer costs. Dont remember what other savings are in there. Like is there price reduction if use with Glacier or not.

I'll be honest that I'm not a Clojure user, even with context I have no idea read that. Like every other language you have to be trained to read it correctly and is not intuitively obvious to everyone.

News Corp is very good at manipulating the line. WSJ is not the same as it used to be. It is not fair and balanced. You can still still influence by omitting and focusing on key areas of stories. This applies to all media and News Corp or

My company requires 3 references. Hiring manager does calls those just before offer is made and there is intent. I don't like calling references unnecessarily. There is a form which mostly is about how candidate interacted with co-wor

Genuine question: Do you not have issues with browsers and other security products and OCSP? At work they blocked all internet access and tools that forced use of CRL and OCSP lost their minds. Digicert and other CAs seem to to use port 8

You are not wrong and I knew better but I was build for first time and bought all at same time. Now it's a mix of HGST, WD, Toshiba. Some are 34000h, with no issues. The WD is slower when data scrubbing but I don't trust WD for

Agreed. I built a synology with 5x Seagate and all failed within 18 months with light workload. I will never buy another Seagate. Replaced with mix of HGST and Toshiba which are working for several years with no bad sectors. Now will buy

I disagree that it's nuanced, it's very blatant. Listen to coverage involving Bernie Sanders before he dropped out to hear it. But as long as you realize it, it can still be informative.

OKRs are a thing in tech circles. John Doerr wrote a book on it. My company rolled it out and most people struggle with coming up with meaningful metrics for their job.

I have same experience with 5x 3 GB Seagates. None lasted 2 years. Replaced those with Toshiba's and HGST in my Synology and it's been 3+ years without bad sectors. Will never buy Seagate again.

Mine were all printouts from the library from microfiche. I remember a stock trading simulator, a lemonade stand game and 3D sine wave program that was mostly in machine code.

TOTP has a secret which is basically the seed of the calculation. The security basically comes from that secret being only on the phone you have and not being copyable. Moving it to the server removes that proximity. At least thats how i

They mean proxmox requires full debian. Pretty sure its not a choice. In VMs you can run anything qemu runs. Also no Docker. The devs are opinionated, not that that is necessarily an issue.

You would think but its a valid concern. Facial recognition systems tend to fail more often with dark skinned people and I would argue that should have been considered the same way.

> Wait why wouldn't std::deque allocate blocks as some multiple of the sizeof the thing it holds? It does in the semicontiguous 4k blocks. And at least one msvc was that smart as i used it.
