That's actually a really good analogy. And the GP is right. There should definitely be some laws to prohibit these kinds of things that Facebook is attempting (doing), now that electronic mail/communication is becoming standard.

I switched from PHP to node.js and haven't looked back since. And I know node has its shortcomings, but in time I have no doubt that they will be sorted out. Right now it does absolutely everything I need it to do and more. A huge part of

I really don't like this idea. While it might have helped ensure the OP's longevity in the company, it's selfish and is really doing more harm then good in the long run. And that doesn't really seem like the OP's style. I hope you and oth

This just saved me a ton of time! I'd been planning doing implementing something similar to this in my startup's webapp. The flexibility this provides is just awesome and should hopefully make things much easier. Thank you Marcin Warpec

If anyone is interested in our little community, it's mostly on irc.globalgamers.net within the following channels: #tdmpickups, #iPug, #mlut, and #mlig. Basically you join pickup games (aka pugs) - 4v4, 5v5, etc. - using an IRC bot that k

I actually still play UT99 daily! There's still a fairly competitive community where we hold tournaments and stuff. Plus, I'm developing something (long-awaited) for UT99 called NewNet (similar to Lotus's UT2004 UTComp mod) that eliminates

Just a tip for those who aren't web devs: the page layout can be fixed by removing the comment/element via Chrome's inspector. Right-click on the comment, choose "Inspect Element", and delete it. And of course the same could be done with an

It's certainly very cool, but is it really that useful? Or I could just be missing the bigger picture. I actually hope that's the case so I can learn something new today. But it just seems to me like making a png/gif image is much easier

The point the GP was making is that regardless of kids being kids, resources are now available to give the kid first-hand experience that non-conformity and believing in oneself doesn't mean he will go through life alone in his efforts. Ha

Very good point. Sadly more people don't have the same outlook, so this invasion of privacy will probably continue for as long as it's allowed. I think talking about it like we're doing now is the best thing we can do - bring awareness to

I put my facebook account on hold awhile back; but if I decide to reactivate it and if I'm ever job hunting again during that time, I'll probably either just make a fake facebook account or I'll have two separate accounts: one for inappropr

I realize this is off topic, so please forgive the following rant. I'm not sure if it's out of principle or just stubbornness, but it's gotten to the point where every time I read an article that is paginated (most likely only because whoe

You can neglect and ignore maintenance of gas-powered engines too. Stop getting oil changes and never check/refill it and see what happens to your engine. It will eventually be "bricked". Just like gas-powered vehicles need to be maintaine
