Hi. I don't really know the best way to do this, though I have thought about it over the years. I think things like Google Gears will be a big help with this sort of thing. But it should also be possible to write smart client-side libraries

Hi Paul I'm surprised you didn't tie this in to due diligence checks done by VCs, and its impact on startups, etc. The parallels are strong, and you've commented on that impact before (at FOWA in 2007, I think). Regards, Terry Jones

Another telling sign: in the late 90s when trying to raise money for a startup you had to have an answer to the M question. These days you need an answer to the G question. No-one asks the M any more, it's just not relevant.
