I'd recommend uMatrix, it can be used to block add, but it can also do so much more. It really helps if you want to disable most JavaScript where you don't need it too. Really great addon.

As long as I am able to block any element I want using my browser (and god help us if we reach a state where we can't), I won't have to look at any ad for more than 2 seconds. Any website that has too many ads to disable manually,

It seems so bad that uMatrix is not even allowing me to access the website. I opened up Chrome Dev Tools, and I really wish I hadn't. Holy hell.

I hate this practice, no idea how it became commonplace. Of course lots of times, installation procedures can be long and tedious, but it takes one popular project's script server to be compromised, and tons of people are suddenly runn

Recent Android versions have a pretty good system in place. The apps still work even without some permissions (for example Instagram can work for browsing, but won't be able to take any pictures without the camera permission), and you

It's right on the line wrap, but it actually says `a = a | b`. At least right now, not sure if they edited it.

Yeah seems like I'm still on the good boat where I'm not actually forced to be concentrated on something all the time, I just do it because I'm like that, and have free time to focus and obsess over the stuff that I like. Get

Had to learn Scheme in college too. It was the only functional language taught, it was taught as an intro course, and most people, including professors, didn't like Scheme.

Huh, maybe I just haven't been talking to the right people. I always felt like I was surrounded by people who didn't want to bother with functional languages any further. It's true that every mainstream language has adopted f

It's very sad how most new programmers aren't even versed in any functional languages, or even know what they are. Everyone learns imperative because they're so much easier and intuitive initially. Well, that and... almost ev

Have had a lot of fun with TIS-100. It's a very weird architecture, but it does teach the fundamentals of low-level coding, like using a single working register, manipulating data in a simple way and using goto statements and branches
