I didn’t say it was. I challenge the need to censor comments from some random anonymous poster vs taking the comment with a grain of salt but leaving it up. This pretty much mirrors the national debate we’re having about social media and ce

I don’t think something in bad taste needs to be censored. Just my take. It’s the difference between taking a comment with a grain of salt and saying “no one can read this because we can’t prove it.”

What do you mean by credible? How does anyone on here present proof of credibility about knowledge of a particular event or issue? The comment in question was from someone who created a throwaway “exzappos” username and claimed to have work

As an aside: I hadn't bought anything off Zappos for years, and checked it out when the news hit and surprised that it still basically looks the same as I remember it maybe 10+ years ago. Certainly looks and feels like an eCommerce web

I'm not talking about whether you individually choose to ignore the bad parts. I'm saying that LinkedIn takes advantage of your need to be on their site whether you actually want to or not to introduce some very annoying features

If a site doesn't add enough value for you you aren't going to put up with it. There are certain news sites like Forbes that are so annoying that I don't deal with it. The point is LinkedIn is in a category where you "n

You’re still creating a profile on a site where you admit is full of nonsense. You’re just saying you ignore it as best you can. That is still a situation where you’re using something even though you realize there’s a lot of nonsense becaus

The main point of the post is not that LinkedIn isn’t useful, it’s that it is useful but takes advantage of your professional need to be on the service whether you want to or not that is akin to a hostage-like situation. The hostage dynamic

Of all the categories of social media apps I genuinely believe an entirely new professional networking app reimagined from the ground up could very easily “disrupt” a legacy app like LinkedIn. I’m honestly surprised I haven’t seen anything

Ok but I don’t think it had anything to do with being burnt out at any point either due to founder stress. He had always been into the rave scene. His entire instagram page was like one big love letter to Burning Man. He had a new tour titl

To be fair Hsieh’s story doesn’t sound like it has anything to do with “pressures of being a founder”. I mean his “work 100 hour weeks to achieve success” days were long over. He was basically quasi-retired, and clearly had been checked out

What is “dangerous” about it? It isn’t as if the DOJ is the one speculating as to what the motive is or was, it’s that they have specific evidence of communication between Plaid and Visa that spelled out Plaid’s plan to basically “scare” Vi

Yeah I really didn’t like this deal when it was first announced. Plaid has a ton of bank account and transaction data on competitors to Visa that gives it a ridiculous advantage over its competitors.

Base salary is similar everywhere. It’s the equity comp that is the difference, and the part that is more a function of the leverage you have as a candidate. H1-Bs are more desperate and less likely to have leverage to ask for high equity c

Some companies do care about costs. They care more about the second part. But it’s also silly to say FB doesn’t care about overhead when they made a big deal about paying workers less if they moved to a lower cost of living area.
