well in this case it seems like Alphabet is finally getting more disciplined around spending when it comes to all these unprofitable “moonshots” that have largely gone nowhere. i don’t think Google has announced layoffs yet.

total revolving consumer credit aka credit card debt is a straight line up going to hit $1 trillion soon for the first time. seems not great in face of high interest rates. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CCLACBW027S

They got caught in the hype and lost a lot of money. Apple has many times. I don’t know why this is suddenly a conspiracy that some mega cap tech firms used cheap debt to buy back their stock. It’s not. It’s actually the primary way that th

Unless you are seriously actively avoiding it I would be highly skeptical your average person actually avoids seed oil in their everyday eating because it’s in almost everything packaged and used at almost all restaurants/take out plac

I’m reading yet another example of the benefits of a low or no seed oil diet is reducing chances of a sun burns. General idea is that because polyunsaturated fats are highly unstable when heated/exposed to oxygen that a person with hig

Unemployment numbers don’t include people who are not of retired age but have chosen to stop looking for work The share of prime working aged men who aren’t working and not looking for work is historically high.

Yeah that’s not what I mean. I mean make it a policy to not allow people to have their phones out in class. You can also block certain sites on school WiFi networks. I’m sure some schools already have something like this already. I don’t me

This is really silly. Putting the onus on kids to fight the addictive cues created by sophisticated social media companies that actively work to make their products even more addictive is absolutely not the right way to address it. Though I

you will be able to claim deductions immediately and owe less taxes than a single person making the same. plus you get double the standard deduction. in that case you will really pay very few taxes even if you save very little in a 401k or

It’s not really a gotcha. Seed oil isn’t a perfect term but if the oil comes from some seed that requires an extensive chemical process to extract, refine, and deodorize it’s a being referenced as a “seed oil” here. Coconut oil is not that.

that’s only true for a store bought dressing, which frankly no one should ever really buy if you are health conscious. there is no “real” homemade dressing recipe that has seed oil in it.

Who is using seed oils unheated? There’s almost zero use cases for that. You could maybe argue store bought salad dressings but any real homemade or high quality dressing is not going to be made with canola or sunflower oil but most likely
