Comparing anything to C++ is a very low bar. I have rarely encountered issues in rust. Most rust crates stick to semver so you know when there will be a breaking change. My rust experience with Cargo can only be described as problem free(th

Go is getting used in places where Java would have been used in the past. Java complaints go down, Go complaints go up.

For library code thiserror has been by far the best experience, sure I can write out the error code manually but why would I waste my time pumping out boiler plate. The combination of thiserror and anyhow have been my go to for nearly 3 yea

Cool, they should start now. As a python dev, pythons multiprocess/multithreading story is one the largest pain points in the language. Single threaded performance is not that useful while processors have been growing sideways for 10 y

People building language tooling often use the language itself, even if it is not very suitable for the task at hand. This happens because the tooling often requires domain knowledge which they have and if they set out to write tooling for

We used hg when I started at my current position. From a developer stand point the experience was better but all the tooling and integrations are git based so we switched.

I don't keep up to date on all the k8s changes but a couple years ago wasnt the recommendation not to have your databases in k8s at all? What has changed between now and then where putting postgres into k8s is an option? Does the Postg

It doesn't help that it feels like pythons async ecosystem doesn't really know how it works. There is all sorts of blocking code in python async libraries and no one seems bothered by it. I guess it could be that they just don

Aha that might be their target but young urban professionals are not likely to be the largest demographic. That demographic prefers Starbucks, and more likely some hip 3rd wave place over timmies.

I have no idea as I don't use the cartridges myself but I think the point is to keep them away from moisture so a closed container with ethanol or food grade oil or whatever would probably work as well.

You can get the cartridges to last quite a while if you strop them (as best you can) and keep them away from moisture when not in use. I have heard of some people just putting them in a tiny glass of mineral oil. That said for as often as I
