This is an Ad. Nothing wrong with it but title should be changed to the title of the article this leads to, i.e.“Why render”. Otherwise this is deceptive.

This attitude works for personal projects but will probably be somewhat career limiting working in a team.

If only Google Maps actually addressed feedback from the app, sigh. I’ve been reporting the cycling routes in Sydney that constantly try sending you down the stairs to no effect. It seems that the only way to get google to listen nowadays i

I see a lot of this FAANG "threatening" - walk the talk people! I did and I don't regret it. Until people start to actually take action nothing will change. P.S. Yes I recognize that there may be people in precarious situatio

I’m sorry to hear this has happened to you and I do hope you’re only going to get better. State of diagnostics is indeed very poor, esp. in a field like Immunology. It took 2 years and 4 doctors to find what was wrong with me and how to tre

That’s the deal about those things - the company has all the power in this situation. Usually if the company finds out you’re doing something they really don’t want to be involved in they do one of the following: - Officially distance thems

It’s not reasonable by any means - you either assign all rights to google or assign all rights except copyright to google. Their process is public actually, you can take a look: https://opensource.google/docs/releasin

Generally it’s not the auth itself that is the problem but RBAC, multi-factor auth, integrations, etc. We’ve looked at Auth0 and Okta because we wanted to see if we can save some dev time devising RBAC and supporting a lot of different auth

Because that may introduce new biases around smaller universities from India, Russia, China who already have issues getting things published. As a former scientist in a smaller Russian uni publishing was already difficult and it saddens me

I always tell my interns: “I have been in this job for 10+ years and I’m still yet to tell anyone they’re asking too many questions.” Seems to put them at ease :)
