This behavior is typically because management at the top is technically detached and focused only on financial aspects. This means actual technical strategy gets distributed to large number of desperate managers as opposed to getting system

I don't understand all these protests against defence contracts, China, CBP work. Guess what? These needs to be done by someone and if its not Google, it would be Palantir or Microsoft or Oracle or IBM. Google is not what used but at

On a bigger picture, it is concerning that all big tech is now growing by squeezing their existing assets as opposed to by gaining more users. For example, Microsoft Windows used to cost me $20/yr in licensing cost, no wait coasts $100

For those you don’t know: Brad Smith was the chief legal officer who got Microsoft out of Antitrust with a slap on the hand. For this marvelous achievement, he has since been given promotions all the way to the position of the President.

On more selfish note... I'm hoping to apply and work at Google. How much can this affect me? What could be the possible timeframe when penalties would go in effect? The antitrust thing had been going on for a decade and Google had mana

This has now become a pattern. Google throws resources on some execs whims, kills off competitors and after a while exec cashes out, thanks to their rewards system. The left over bunch then figures out that the thing is not as profitable so

Pretty much every journalist outlet is trashy these days, even NYT. That’s not the point. The Gawker’s article on him was expose which he couldn’t stomach. This is the guy who paints himself as torch bearer of ultra-freedom and libertarian

These days it is very politically incorrect to say that someone is 10X. The LinkedIn is full of profiles with people whose job titles with words like “leader”, “mentor”, “coach”, “team player”. The only thing that is usually missing in thei

This is so eerily similar to killing of Picasa. They killed a great functional popular app and forced everyone to mediocre half assed website. Not sure what is going on at Google. Is there anyone in charge here?
