Actually, Navteq is no longer an independent entity since 2011-2012. The business unit is now called HERE [1] and mostly divided between Germany and the US. It provides maps services for MS, MapQuest, Garmin, Amazon, Yahoo! Maps, Yandex, BM

Another point of view on the protests: http://abrazilianoperatinginthisarea.wordpress.com/2013/06/1... This started because of a raise in bus fares, but the fact that more and more people are protesting has a lot

I'm familiar with that. And the guy proposes 22Km as the limit. Besides, a lot has changed in the use of airspace and space in the last 8 years. Yet, I don't know of any authoritative source for the actual current claims of most c

As far as I know there is no international agreement on this. Altitude can vary from 30Km to 160Km. Most countries seem to claim somewhere between 70Km and 100Km as their airspace. If someone has more details on this, it's very welcome

As far as I know, the company keeps the goods. And the more high-priced items (laptop, TV, etc.) can't be paid in cash on delivery (only credit card or Internet banking accepted for those).

In China you can have Amazon (and other major e-commerce firms) ship things to your home or office and pay in cash on delivery (for most items). The amount of delivery people in Beijing, especially near lunch time, is quite impressive.

Actually, when I submitted the article I changed the title to "Singapore Institutes New Rules to Control Media/Websites", as the original title was also not that good. HN moderators came up with the current butchered title.

But USD 2k is a whole lot of money for people in some of the countries where they'd need to resort to this to put something on the Google store. Not something you'd easily have access to. And there are also the issues in sending that money

The cooking and spices comment applies to insects too. I didn't say you have to eat insects by themselves. I still prefer them over chicken. If we're talking about not using much seasoning/condiments/side dishes, then nothing beats nice bee

It depends. Some coconut larvae taste great by themselves. The squishy inside of barbecued silk worms are also pretty good, for example. But for many insects, yes, the seasoning is what counts. Or they can be just part of a more elaborate d

Most of the world population is in Asia, where many don't have that negativity. Other huge chunks of people in Africa. I can definitely see, with time, other places "adapting".

I currently live in Asia, so it's relatively easy for me to find them. Where are you based? If in the US, I suggest looking on the Internet for some cicada recipes! Roasted. Most insects can just be fried. Sometimes people add some salt, or

For crickets, yes, when fried they just become salty and crunchy. And you can eat the whole thing. Which is great with beer. :) For spiders, I've only had the larger ones. So there is actually some "meat". And the taste reminds me of crab.

Not really. Especifically in the case of the bird flu, that was mentioned above, chicken get them from birds in the wild. So commercial poultry sometimes might have its advantages.

I disagree that chickens taste better than most insects. My experience is quite the opposite. Chicken is usually more bland, I guess. While insects vary a lot. Some can be pretty tasty, others quite awful.

In many places people have no trouble eating them; some are even considered a delicacy. From the ones I've tried, some are actually pretty tasty. The best are: bamboo worm, barbecued silk worm, fried spider, water roach, and fried crickets.
