Since there was a talk about abolishing patents etc. from the US system, I had my hopes up for a few seconds that England might've picked some of those ideals up. Looks like that isn't the acse. They're actually acting now on a study commis

I'm not saying the Desktop OS is dead. I'm saying the only reason why you'd use a desktop OS is for complicated tasks like designing / programming / gaming / spreadsheets where this kind of power is needed. This OS looks very minimalistic.

Hmm, it looks beautiful and I really don't want to be a detractor, but with the iPad, I don't really see anyone needing a minimalist desktop OS anymore.

I don't agree a person wearing a Metallica t-shirt is actually promoting them. It's more of a case of saying, "Hey world, I'm cool because I like Metallica!". It's a case of showing off your interests to the world, not an altruistic promot

Sorry, but why would I wear a DropBox t-shirt? If I'm an employee there or something, it might make sense. It also makes sense if you identify yourself with a particular large company's ethos like Apple / Google, but I just can't see mysel

Both the comments are equally naive I believe. There is no way you can logically justify English colonialism was on the whole a beneficial experience for India and you'd have to come up with a much better explanation to justify that. You ne

Considering local government corruption, I'd actually be happy if it wasn't used for 'practical' purposes if the government gets to control all this wealth.

Indeed, Inertia shouldn't be an excuse for Facebook to not improve their track record. Atleast now that they have some competition, they might actually get better.

I agree with what you're saying, but I don't think iPhone apps driven by game mechanics are the right answer to this problem. It doesn't necessarily go with the relaxed Joie de vivre attitude of wine tasters. I feel it translates the experi

The problem with these systems is that they're okay when only a really few people do it. But imagine if you're a VC and every aspiring entrepreneur keeps spamming you every single day. The novelty wears off quickly.
