If one were to port a game, then before displaying the buffer, one can generate vector graphics before sending it to the frame buffer. While you can potentially display both the buffers, I am sure the vectorization phase will be computation

This is an interesting paper. Though I only read the abstract, it seems like real-time performance could be achieved by utilizing GPUs for B-spline calculations. Would be awesome for video games if real-time performance can be achieved!

I thought Google had refused to add this feature in their Goggles project due to privacy concerns? This large-scale face recognition systems for auto-tagging would probably be switched off by default.

It is true that this may hit feelings of some people. If we are blaming them, lets also blame Apple(app store) and a lot others. Unfortunately we have to learn to adapt and let go of these things... Internet is quite insensitive

Yes, you are right. Given this consideration, I think maybe the surface needs to be configurable? Not sure but it will be pretty complicated to dynamically adjust to changing density.

I can see possibilities of simulating a Gomboc surface on the back of a four-legged robot. However, the robot will either need small "legs" or some servo's to bring the "legs" inside the body (like a turtle) to correct its position
