With MacBooks, i can work with touchpad fairly well... Every other touchpad i used on Linux machines make me hate them. They are not high quality metal-ish touchpads so they wear off and so on.

I am nearly always plugged in, so i stopped optimizing for it but it's great to have for sure. Macs do great here, great display, great battery in general. My personal laptop is a gigabyte aero 4k and battery doesn't last quite as

A lot of employees of big corp disagrees with you, sadly. Some don't even get the option. While at Google, i used to get Lenovo first few times, but switched to MacBook for battery and display. Screen actually makes a huge difference..

I have gigabyte aero 4k display. i love the display, i almost hate everything else - the touchpad, the ports, the charger, the wobbliness of the screen hinge. Only bought it for display and it don't regret it.

Manufacturers need to produce laptops with 4k display if they are willing to compete with Macs... And also a decent touch pad and battery.

I root for mastodon, but i don't think it becoming big enough to challenge any current social media platform. Twitter may die, but i don't think mastodon would grow as much as you make it sound.

Is every exxon decision malice then? like opening a gas station in your neighborhood because it didn't have any? Sure it has profit in mind, but is it evil or malice?

"it's not my job". Someone whose job it is made a few mistakes. you must have made a shit ton of mistake too. Claiming otherwise is stupid. What you and i can pinpoint on twitter spam is independent of "everything is evi

Actually, a fraudster can design their system such that when preview service is the one rendering the page, it returns an error, but when a legit user is making the request, it may proceed showing bad stuff. This is known as cloaking. Safe

I hate this too, i give it to developer not knowing what is allowed in RFC 5322 and using simple regex that works for 99.9% of the users...

You should talk to your congressperson to voice your opinion. I agree there should be ways to get things fixed in a timely manner. I got locked out of my old Google account once as a Google employee and i got 0 help and it was frustrating,

Or do the correct thing and be somewhat skeptical but also logical, and think of things in context, weight potential causes for an issue and pick the likely one. Speaking from experience: 1. size of mastodon is such a small thing that i dou

An algorithm may have incorrectly marked a site as malicious, or crawling might be failing because of an malformed http header etc. Who knows... When there is feedback loops involved (in the context of an integrity system, for example), it

Once we make peace with the fact that employers are not family, and big corps are in it for profit, some level of skepticism is warranted. I am mostly thinking attributing _everything_ to malice or profit is wrong. Even then, nearly almost

Organizations are made up of people. When you have 5000 people making small decisions with 0.1% possibility of being wrong, if have 40% of chance having at least one mistake over 5000 decisions.

You are mixing one issue with another. I am making a very specific claim that this issue is not malice, either a system with false positive or a system that has a bug.

You are mixing a bunch of things. I do think twitter has too much moderation problem, i don't think this particular issue is.
