HTML in email is awful but sadly in most place it has won. In Apple Mail you can't attach pictures to plain text email w/o them being converted to HTML again. Gmail behaves completely different. And on Android you can't reall

That is created using LuaTeX and I'm sure the sources behind that PDF document are carefully crafted and LuaTeX works really well. But if you would do the same document with the same amount of images in Microsoft Word and create a PDF

I think some believe this was the reason why Wal-Mart failed in Germany. They brought this "can I help you" with them and German customers rather went to Aldi & co where they could shop in peace.
