Yesterday I got a mail from Facebook: "*Woman_I_have_known mentioned you on Facebook". Haven't used FB in years, mail looks legit, I get kinda curious. I tap it, and am immediately logged in, in DDG browser (which has 0 cooki

Valid reply! I went through my pages of threads didn't see anything, is there a way to search? It's also submissions btw.

I often don't understand why my comments get flagged. Sometimes it feels random, sometimes I can see that it is because I'm too libertarian or something? Idk, it feels like people push comments into the 1 dimensional US political

It’s sad isn’t (wasn’t) such a professor as a waste of money? I mean the market dictates what we get, with some influential persons and companies, but it’s all chance. Why do we have these well paid professors working on stuff like this? I

Scanners are also getting better. Perhaps this way it will make it all the way to the atomic cloning era. Just like we might all just make it until the “upload your consciousness” era, or the “we beat aging” era.

I want COW everywhere because I want to revert to snapshots on my laptop as much as on my servers. I want it integrated into the bootloader and boot into snapshots, I want ransomware protection on my laptop, etc.

Can't we think if another name for "serverless"? Like OS-less? Stackless? By now it's pretty well known but it's confusing to anyone first hearing it. Like calling a city buildingless, oh but when you call for a bui

It's such a shame. We don't quite trust btrfs (but it's probably fine!), we don't quite trust the ZFS license and the fact that it is not in the Kernel (but it's mostly fine!), so Bcachefs would be so nice to have.

We ZFS for that. What we want is something in kernel, ready to go, 100% supported on root ok any Linux system with no license ambiguity. We want to replace ext4. Maybe btrfs can do it. I hear it has outgrown its rocky puberty.

Pretty sure I could with VaultWarden. For Proton indeed it seems to be an open issue. In theory it should be doable right? It's not like "impossible because of the spec" or something?

Nice, I like tmux, I use it daily, I live in it. I hope this version makes it easier to just scroll with the scroll wheel or ctrl-page-up/down, or ctrl tab through your panes, or just show the whole unconcatenated title in the bottom l

I think Proton Pass just stores one key for all devices? Not even sure! But it does work anywhere without the experience you had: I go to a website I have saved, it pops up, I click and am logged in. Not sure if Proton does the device speci

Maybe it stops recurring when we realize we are all human. Will it take the discovery of an alien race to realize we are one? Savages.

Lay people associate space with cold because nearly every scifi movie has people freezing over in seconds when exposed to the vacuum of space (insert Picard face-palm gif). Even The Expanse, even them! Although they are otherwise so realist
