Just off the top - * Everyone gets lumped into the same risk tolerance bucket * Big funds tend to make big purchases which on their own can move markets, which is bad. You see this more with sovereign wealth funds than pensions though. * Yo

Redshift doesn’t have column level access permissions but it does have schema/table level access permissions. That is more than sufficient to prevent this kind of issue.

This simply doesn’t work when you have sparsely populated dimensions and/or you don’t know what dimensions are important in advance. Both of these are very common. That’s why you don’t see a higher prevalence of estimated measurement.

The reason we need to store everything is less about needing perfect accuracy of measurement (though I think we do want it) and more about the curse of dimensionality[0]. We want to slice, pivot, and filter datasets more aggressively than e

It’s not that hard to fathom. Literally tens of millions of people know the name Grumpy Cat. Maybe 1% of that number know about Grenade Beverage.

Radar is Apple’s internal bug tracking system. Outsiders have limited access to it. I believe bugreport.apple.com is the path for submitting bugs as an external developer.

It’s easy to knock over anything with bursty Lambda loads. I have successfully maxed out AWS Redis, kinesis, kinesis streams, and S3 with massively parallel Lambda work. One of the things that I haven’t figured out is if there’s a sane and

If you are entertaining an offer at a company, they should give you these numbers without hesitation. If they don’t, refuse the offer. I have never had an issue getting details on equity, funding rounds, and valuation.

I agree with you that AMT for ISO exercise is bullshit but they did significantly change the rules. My AMT tax burden for exercising this year is half what it would have been under the old rules.

Worse than making no money, you could have exercised your stock options for any number of totally valid reasons and lost some or all of that cash.

You are arguing against yourself here. Having the mean and 95th/99th percentile is going to give you a better picture of the distribution than mean alone. Mean alone actually doesn’t give you ANY idea of the distribution. I don’t know

I don’t know how magic is in Cloud Functions, but I personally set up Mailgun postbacks in AWS and it was a huge pain in the ass to configure correctly. I’d love I know if google does something differently that would have been easier.

The timing of this article is important to note because Youtube has since put in place major revisions to their monetization policies known colloquially as “Adpocalypse” that may impact the strategy.

From what I can tell, Amazon isn’t giving people deep technical information. They’ll just send you an email telling you which instances are being forced to restart and when.
