All of these issues are functions of a growing population. You know that our species has a problem when the solution to issues becomes "we need to shit out more babies." This modus operandi is no different than that of a replicati

This one in particular struck a cord with me: 一颗螺丝掉在地上 A screw fell to the ground 在这个加班的夜晚 In this dark night of overtime 垂直降落,轻轻一响 Plunging vertically, lightly clinking 不会引起任何人的注意 It won’t attract anyone’s attention 就像在此之前 Just like last t

Seems pretty pointless to me, too. I'll make the assumption that the founders have zero financial interest in Winamp. What's the point of exerting IP rights if you have nothing to gain financially... is it pride? A latent desire t

There is a similar phenomenon in India where international drug patents are largely ignored. Their pharmaceutical market is flooded with cheap generics. It's gotten to the point where the rest of the world just orders their meds online

Making it harder to read is tantamount to censorship. It also erodes the user experience. Why do I need to highlight or squint at something a ton of ignorant people disagreed with?

Leaving a million tabs open is analogous leaving all your silverware on your countertop instead of putting it in a drawer where it belongs. Regardless of how convenient it is, it's chaotic and incorrect user behavior. People need to ta

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. There should be some sort of middle ground, which I suspect is what tab groups try to solve. My use case for tabs is quick ingestion of information that I tend to look at immediately, in rapid succession.

It boggles my mind that people use tabs like bookmarks. Not only does this usually destroy your available RAM, but its just not the right tool for the job. You are using a hammer like a screwdriver. To each their own, I guess. Just don'

Keep in mind that there is a reproducibility crisis[0] currently plaguing academia. The quantity of papers has skyrocketed and the quality has plummeted. Until the SNR is fixed, take all of it with a grain of salt. [0] https://en

This is highly tangential, but abuse of a fetus needs to be a federal crime. My mother drank caffeine and smoked while pregnant, and I will live with the consequences for the rest of my life. It is unforgiveable.
