There is a similar phenomenon in India where international drug patents are largely ignored. Their pharmaceutical market is flooded with cheap generics. It's gotten to the point where the rest of the world just orders their meds online from India. I'm stating the obvious here: the only people who like copyright laws are the 1% who profit from them. The rest of the 99% get to suffer.
