I work in aviation safety. I build data pipelines and statistical and AI/ML models to identify potential hazards. Like many, I'm self-taught and learned to program before formally studying CS in college. I found my dad's copy

I used to think the concept of a mug warmer or a heated mug was quite silly. My wife and I received Ember mugs a few months ago, and they're a lot less silly than I thought--they just keep your cup warm to exactly the temperature you p

The devil lies in the details here. Brouwer's fixed point theorem says that for a continuous function f that maps a _compact, convex_ set to itself, there must exist a point x₀ such that f(x₀) = x₀. This theorem is only valid for sets

I spent so many hours in high school playing Angband. It introduced me to roguelikes and I always found it to be straightforward to understand and play (in comparison to nethack, which is also quite good). I love that it is still being upda

Not all use cases require perfect forward secrecy, so I think PGP can still be useful for some applications (and I tend to enjoy using PGP). I agree however with your point that serious security products do not need to support PGP specifica

This looks really great. One thing I love about DataGrip is that I have quality Vim keybindings through IdeaVim. Would it be possible to add Vim keybindings in the query editor?

Is this really likely? We're seeing Bitcoin embraced by financial institutions, payment processors like Visa, pension funds, etc. It seems to me that the wind is not blowing in the direction of a Bitcoin ban (or "ban").

I'm not arguing either of those (and wholeheartedly agree with you). I'm simply stating a potential concern/justification that Robinhood may have or use.

The financial system has _many_ guard rails including licensure (see the FINRA exams), regulations and regulatory bodies, and orders to halt or limit trades and positions on volatile securities. This concern is relevant to GME, BB, AMC, etc

Some folks on WSB may know what they're doing, but many folks are joining Robinhood and buying GME and AMC due to the hype and that they heard they can make a quick buck. When GME eventually crashes, many of them will lose a fair bit o
