I'm going to need a little more information. Does this search only private trackers? Which ones? Or does the "private" just mean that the searches themselves are private?

I'm a high school teacher, so my experience isn't directly relevant but I've certainly encountered my fair share of cheating. The student that wrote the code can always explain not only how it works but why they made certai

Looks like another example of porn companies pushing the envelope with technology. They were accepting credit cards online before virtually anyone. In fact, I think most innovations in technology come from either the military, video games o

How about climate change? Producing staggering quantities of meat is responsible for an awful lot of greenhouse gas emissions and uses a ton of fossil fuels.

In my opinion, default offline vs default online is a HUGE architectural difference. You could probably try to hack it into the existing player, but it wouldn't work well. A ground-up rewrite wouldn't surprise me at all for such a

It's one of the social norms on HackerNews that "low-value" comments like "Love it! Thanks!" and "favorited" are discouraged. Although such comments are polite to the commenter, they add nothing but noise

Maybe I'm odd, but I don't trust Paypal with a recurring monthly debit. Their track record makes me doubt it would just be smooth and painless.

I'm in the same boat, though in my case I'd prefer Stripe for card processing rather than Paypal. Stripe already has my card on file from other sellers, and I trust them where I don't especially trust Paypal.

Sorry to cast doubt. I forget what it's like for people that don't do this professionally; I could have created all those assignments in 10 hours, tops because that's what I've done for a living for the past 19+ years. G

I'd argue that this isn't especially "for beginners". I know I'm a special case, but you cover more concepts in 18 exercises than I cover in my entire first book (Learn Java the Hard Way; 58 exercises and 250 pages)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that ProDOS was originally written directly in assembly and not compiled from a higher-level language. Disassembling is pretty trivial compared to de-compiling.

I just held down CTRL and clicked my mouse scroll wheel up a few times. Zoom 150% looks great to me. The browser will remember this preference for his site, as well. No plugins needed.

There seems something a bit ironic or maybe recursive about having to provide my own email address to be able to easily search someone else's emails. Then maybe you will get hacked and someone else will put up a dataset containing m

If you care so much about music fidelity and are using bluetooth, then I'm inclined to say you deserve what you get. I keep all the music I own in FLAC as well, but have written scripts to transcode to Ogg Vorbis for portability.

If you can tell a difference between 320 kbps mp3 and FLAC, then your mp3 encoder has a bug. I promise you that you can't ABX the two.

Your data is super old; the AB-level exam was discontinued in 2009, and last year we had nearly 60,000 students that took the A exam. But your point is therefore even more valid: not all of these students are going to be at top schools.

Again, my students have to do over 70 labs before they can even write a function. If you can write a TDD suite to test those first 69 labs then my hat's off to you. I think we have different definitions of the word "beginner"
