I wanted to find out, so I looked at vgo's source code, and found that vgo does indeed have some solution to this using Github Access Tokens and ~/.netrc: https://github.com/golang/vgo/blob/b6ca6ae

To all the skeptics, please try it out and provide constructive feedback. Experiment with the corner cases you think won't work. Judging just by the blogpost won't help anyone. Personally, I'm very excited and impressed by th

I highly recommend this talk "Greatness cannot be planned: the Myth of the Objective" by Kenneth Stanley: he created picbreeder.org (evolutionary art platform) and realized that if an interesting state is set as an objective, then

EDIT: I forgot the fact that CH4 is being burned, not released as-is in the atmosphere. Original comment: Carbon footprint is just one way of measuring the impact on climate, but that's only because CO2 is the biggest pollutant. Howeve

I thought CH4 was ~four times more potent in the greenhouse effect than CO2, significantly worsening the global temperature rise.

I'm not sure the graph entitled "A Stark Difference: Drug-Related Deaths" proves any point: Portugal has indeed the best stats and the US the worst, but you cannot conclude that it results from Portugal's vs US's po

I agree that AI is hyped, but I believe the problem is that we absolutely don't care about 50 years of neuroscience research. We know so little about the brain, but already much more than back when "artificial neurons" were m

They agree on the bird analogy, except Numenta (IMHO rightfully) thinks you can't come up with airplane designs without having understood how birds actually fly.

HN hug? :) The title of the paper is "The String-to-String Correction Problem with Block Moves". You can search for it with filetype:pdf on Google. Here is another link (even better quality): https://www.researchgate.ne

Here you go, it's called Tichy diff: http://ftp.cs.purdue.edu/research/technical_reports/1983/TR%... This 1983 paper is still relevant today, it's an algorithm much better suited for code diffs and

I am so afraid that WebAssembly will make too many assumptions that will prevent Go from targeting it as a platform.

I strongly encourage people to read about the lesser-known Tichy diff algorithm too: https://bryanpendleton.blogspot.com/2010/04/more-study-of-di...

It was an interesting read but the solution reminds me of pyramidal "scams" (of course the scam part is where the analogy breaks): the way you avoid burn out, is by delegating it to others and once they too get burned out they hav

From looking in the code, this is my favorite part so far: https://github.com/google/grumpy/blob/75a35b4b30afb049b9cfff... making python threads as lightweight as goroutines must be a breeze!

The issue you are referring to happens only if the docker client version is newer than the docker daemon version. In the case where the client is older than the daemon, it has always worked. Thanks for bringing this issue up though, because
