So you managed to get some Nuclear material to space? Please don't just burn it up in a chain reaction. We can do better. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_salt-water_rocket This one lets you at least 'ai

I tend to mix up Linux and Unix and that might be the issue here... But isn't the `Apple Garden` (OSX and iOS) an example of a desktop/mobile/user operating system built on Linux? Apple's no M$, but they are certainly co

I believe that point is that JS always returns something for every object. Many users of JS just don't realize it. (I know I didn't till I started drinking the coffee flavored kool-aid)

Coffeescript returns the last line always, all you needed to do was add a 'return null' (or just 'return') as the last line in the function. You have to be explicit in Vanilla JS to return things or it just return null.

How polite, the British police ask for access, while the Americans just barge right in. I mean, I don't have proof, beyond my experience when the police came a knocking.

I'd also like to point out that nuclear propulsion (Nuclear Thermal Rockets, proven tech) is a viable option for Moon and Space craft. The Moon's surface is already being blasted with solar radiation from solar wind and flares. Ju

No! Colonizing the Moon only makes sense if the water is there. If we're going to harvest water from asteroids, we should colonize them instead.

Shipping water to space or the Moon goes against the very core of this idea. There is water on the Moon, check out the Lunar Prospector mission for more information. That water is extremely useful, even for an entirely robotic solution beca

I am normally a pretty level dude, but in this case I really do believe we are dealing with something supernaturally evil. This isn't snooping on randoms, it's exposing demons for what they are. (Atheist, but science just doesn&#x

Okay, there has to be someone capable of taking care of the orbiters around? How much would just a minimum amount of maintenance really cost? I think this a real world manifestation of state secrecy and its a shame. On a similar note, I was

This might be in the same vein as "New Coke" was a genius marketing idea, but what if the "botched system" did exactly what is was supposed to, and helped economically bleed the USSR out of existence? Well then I guess w

This is cool, but if you compare the landing footage from STS-1 and Buran, the Buran landing looks decidedly squirrelly, I'm not sure I would want to be on that ride. On the other hand, John Young waxed the first STS landing. http

I don't think it's just good PR. The way SpaceX has gone about building rockets is different. They want to land and reuse the rockets, nobody else was doing that. I think that helped excite a lot of people (myself included). You g

The NIF is not the answer here. I suspect that the facility will only "Blast" a few grams or kilograms of material in its lifetime, we need to deal with TONS of water.

Tritiated water will not change the PH of the oceans. There's also a very very tiny amount of it to deal with. The scale of the 2 problems is not really comparable.

Tritiated water isn't poisonous, and mixes with water (Because it is water). The environmental effects really aren't comparable.

This is not the kind of problem it's being made out to be here. First of all, Tritium is an beta emitter, blocked by a piece of paper or the skin. It's not dangerous in the environment unless it's consumed. Even better, it do

I would suggest you get a PHP server going right away. Install WordPress or another PHP framework. Make the server do something useful. Use PHP to receive POSTed CURL messages. Use PHP... and you will become familiar with PHP.
