The model 3 is more efficient too. The model 3 gains about 5 miles per kwh, but the model S only gains 2-3 miles per kwh. You get less in cold weather because a lot of power is diverted to heating the batteries. Even in San Jose, in the win

One thing that is often overlooked is the vampire drain on EVs. In my experience, Tesla’s can use anywhere from 1-3 kwH every 24 hours sitting idle. The loss is due to keeping monitoring and connectivity on. It’s not an exact science, but i

Teslas don’t have detachable/adjustable height headrests :( I also encountered the pin-required-for-removal in an old Rav4.

My parents purchased a house in Milpitas in the 80s. Inexpensive, yes, and they told me that Palo Alto was still considered expensive and out of reach for them at the time. My father worked at HP for 25 years. Solid middle class lifestyle,

Tesla’s with Autopilot on are very predictable on the freeway. They stay in the center of the lane, and signal when changing lanes. The worst part about them is they stay in the center of lane in traffic so it makes splitting lanes harder.

This is right. Palantir is a suite of tools or platform that a company uses to analyze their own data.

You should give openCore a try. Everyone seems to have a better experience with that now. I was surprised at how easy it was compared to clover. Don’t be the first to update to a new 10.x.y release, but even the latest 10.15.x releases beca

The hackintosh beats my work laptop (mbp 16") in pretty much every way. Hackintosh geekbench CPU scores: Single 1252, Multi-core 8025 See these geekbench charts: https://browser.geekbench.com/mac-benchmarks

I wanted to try this but was worried that the gpu pass through wouldn’t be smooth for basic video playback. How well do YouTube and Netflix play? How smooth does it feel overall? Could someone be fooled into thinking it was a native system

I did run into some stability issues with the latest 10.15.4 release. But I was not running this latest version of OpenCore (0.5.7) that supposedly works better with 10.15.4. I upgraded before 0.5.7 was released. I have a backup that I can

As another data point - Building a hackintosh is so much simpler now than it was 5 years ago. The reddit forum at r/hackintosh is pretty helpful for getting started and has a nice repository of builds. AMD Ryzen CPUs are fairly well su

I feel like the edges of rush hour in LA have turned into a very wide band. There are enough people that have worked out a flexible start and end time which basically makes your commute time the same if you leave anytime between 7am-10am.

They did this for the Y too. I would have liked a quick run through of the interior and other accessories they show on the website. But it's fine, not everything is finished yet. For example, the Model Y has a 7 seat option and we know

Yea, that could be. At the time, the Leaf was just released, and The Tesla model S was on the verge of being delivered. To consumers, it felt like BMW wasn’t listening to their customers. We just wanted a normal car that had an electric dri

People loved these too. The problem was that you couldn’t buy the car after the lease was up, bmw wanted them all back to destroy.

I’ve used an Einscan-SE/SP. How do the 20k+ scanners reduce the part-to-cad workflow? Is the software that’s included do a 10x better job of cleaning up the scan?

Yea, exactly. The bill leaves this part of it in a grey area. What are "reasonable" costs that an HOA can impose? Getting a lawyer involved would have been very costly. I eventually sold the stupid place and moved on.

There used to be one of the cockpit versions at SFO airport in the old United terminal near the AMEX Lounge back in the late 80s/early 90s. What a time. Can't imagine seeing an arcade machine anywhere these days...

I believe there’s a faster drop-off rate to dead on rechargeables, so they aren’t ideal for things like smoke alarms or even smart-locks.
