Awesome, this looks really handy for game development. Love that it's cross platform with Intel and ARM SIMD extensions too! Has anyone used it and have feedback on how well it works?

This is really cool, is there anything similar for hydrogen bombs? I've always been curious how they are different from fission bombs (although obviously a lot of their true workings are still classified).

Making enough plutonium is pretty difficult from what I understand. In WW2 some of the biggest buildings ever built were necessary to house all the equipment to make just enough material for a few bombs (see http://en.wikipedia.

Great news, but I think people need to realize this is really just Microsoft pledging to merge and support what Mono has already been doing. You won't magically be able to take a WPF app and run it on your Mac. You will however be ab

Nice effect! I really like the look of the Jekyll theme you made too, Shiori. Love the simplicity and use of Bootstrap.

Maybe you should look at exchanging your Pi for another one. Manufacturing defects are rare but can happen. I've used dozens of Pi's and never had bad reliability problems. Always use a quality 1 amp or more power supply, good n

Interesting new board from the BeagleBoard.org Foundation that designs the BeagleBone Black and other embedded Linux boards. Has a dual core ARM Cortex A15 processor and what appears to be a lot of peripherals like USB ports, ethernet port

Interesting idea, would definitely make you increase the efficiency of your time at the editor if it costs you $50/hour! But you don't need 1000 cores to fire off a bunch of search requests. Network calls are generally IO bound

It's a gamble though, in my experience Linux support for native device power management is very spotty. You might trade a crappy trackpad driver for no sleep, no CPU throttling, etc.

That's a silly attitude that even Microsoft isn't pushing anymore. How do you rationalize it against the rumored upcoming Office support for iOS and Android?

I'm a big fan of the DOS nostalgia podcast: http://www.dosnostalgia.com/?cat=91 It only comes out once every few months, but the interviews and discussions are awesome if you're nostalgic for DOS & early home

Not to mention there were certainly other problems with Apollo like mission 13, or 11 barely landing before running out of fuel (computer problem forced Armstrong to take manual control and find a new landing spot at the last minute). Ulti

If it helps, chromebooks are nice little laptops that can be had for a couple hundred bucks. If you have monitors and keyboards a Raspberry Pi might work well as a computer and is about $50 with SD card, power supply, etc.

Yeah at this rate they're probably just going to be a camera and game console company. I remember when seeing a giant Sony CRT TV in someone's house meant they were doing something right (or bad with saving money).

Looks interesting and good on Microsoft for finally getting in front of a new hardware trend. I kind of wonder if all these health trackers are just going to be a fad though. Do you really need to micromanage every calorie and heart beat

There are nearly 4 million Pi's sold now vs. a few hundred thousand BeagleBone Black boards (which use ARMv7). If you only have limited resources to get your OS running on one embedded hobbyist board, I think the choice to use the Pi
