This is great news, but aren't there bigger fish to fry with really supporting node.js & npm on Windows? The 255 character path limit bug has been around for a long time and still unresolved/broken on Windows (see https:

The Microsoft ad on the page facing the Alien article is awesome too. Way cooler logo and funny to see them selling an accessory for the Apple 2!

Wow beautiful site, nice work to all involved! I found there's a good blog post about how it all works too: https://18f.gsa.gov/2015/03/19/how-we-built-analytics-usa-go... It's all static pages wit

I'm pretty sure leaving a job, even on your own accord, is a qualifying event that you can use to get subsidized healthcare. You should definitely look into what option are available.

This is just the build system that powers Visual Studio projects. Rosyln is a compiler as a service that lets you compile and inspect .NET code programmatically with an API.

Oh that would be too funny if you could do it. Given how MS fired all their Windows org QA folks it wouldn't surprise me if something like that slipped through too.

The iPhone alone is making more in a quarter than Microsoft makes in an entire year. I'm pretty sure Apple couldn't care less about Microsoft right now.

Don't get your hopes up, by all accounts 'Windows 10' on the Pi 2 is a special version just for running GUI-less embedded applications. Look at what they have already for the Galileo/Edison (C++ only apps, no GUI) and e

Ah, so reading between the lines I'm going to guess they're building Win 10 devices with a built in kinect-like device that does depth sensing in addition to photo recognition.

I'd love to understand more about how the face recognition works. Does it have any way to combat someone just printing out a picture of your face and holding it up? I've done some simple face recognition stuff with OpenCV and it

If you're super enthusiastic about python, why not start contributing to its development by fixing bugs, etc? It's also a long, slow process to get plugged into a big open source project but it's a nice thing to put on a res

Anyone who wants to actually build the board. USB 3.0 is a whole new ball game and has lots of gotchas with board layout & design. Check out Jared Boon's Daisho talk for some good background on USB 3.0 challenges: https:/&#

Is there a layout yet or is it just a schematic? From what I understand USB 3.0 is so crazy fast it requires quite a bit of RF magic/knowledge to even just route from the connector to a chip on a board.

That $600/month was what the company was paying for your health insurance, not some number they made up. Think of it like you were earning more than $9/hour but some of that money went to pay for your health insurance.

I was really hoping to enter that contest with an entry that just used rand to flip a coin and invest. Never had the time unfortunately, but would still love to see how a completely random strategy compares to some of the algorithms.

This comes up with every Pi post on HN for some reason, but if you're getting SD card corruption you either have a bad card (check the known good cards: http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards ) or are not shutting the Pi down
