I have a different perspective on this given that I view climate change as the biggest threat we face as a species. I feel like robotics is the only hope we have to be able to scale action against climate change. It's clear that emissi

iOS apps have to request permission from user to send push and for basically every other problematic permission.

Apps have to request your permission for contacts and location. iOS is really good about not giving bad permissions to apps without user being asked for consent.

So many tools are tightly coupled to git or just assume that everybody uses git. I think that it's hard for any new VCS to gain traction without good git compatibility. For instance Pijul might very well be a lot better than git /

Deferred conflict resolution is amazing in jj because I may never return to some of the branches that are in conflict and therefore might never bother resolving them. I rebase entire trees of commits onto main daily. I work on top of a dev-

I really like the Label feature. I use it to put labels on the screen in my different aerospace workspaces so I can keep track of which project I’m working on. With agents working in parallel this is really useful.

I think that when a software system is used by more people and has more eyes on it, it's more likely to have its security flaws be found and fixed. Then all the users will benefit from the fix. The more that software is fragmented into

I think the only way to solve this is to invest much more into making buses nicer & increasing the numbers, and then instituting bus-only lanes on major arterial roads so that taking the bus becomes faster than fighting traffic.

There’s a lot of places where the weather can suddenly change. People want to know if it’s about to start pouring rain in a couple hours despite looking nice right now. In Colorado the weather shifts are jarring and sudden.
